James H. Fetzer was born in Pasadena, California, on 6 December 1940. At graduation from South Pasadena High School in 1958, he was presented The Carver Award. He was magna cum laude in philosophy at Princeton University in 1962, where his senior thesis for Carl G. Hempel on the logical structure of explanations of human behavior won The Dickinson Prize. After being commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, he became an artillery officer and served in the Far East. After a tour supervising recruit training in San Diego, he resigned his commission as a Captain to begin graduate work in the history and philosophy of science at Indiana in 1966. He completed his Ph.D. with a dissertation on probability and explanation for Wesley C. Salmon in 1970. His initial faculty appointment was at the University of Kentucky, where he received the first Distinguished Teaching Award presented by the Student Government to 1 of 135 assistant professors. Since 1977, he has taught at a wide range of institutions of higher learning, including the Universities of Virginia (twice), Cincinnati, North Carolina at Chapel Hill, New College of the University of South Florida, and now the Duluth campus of the University of Minnesota, where he served from 1987 until his retirement in 2006. His honors include a research fellowship from the National Science Foundation and The Medal of the University of Helsinki. In 1996, he became one of the first ten faculty at the University of Minnesota to be appointed a Distinguished McKnight University Professor. He has published more than 100 articles and reviews and 20 books in the philosophy of science and on the theoretical foundations of computer science, artificial intelligence, and cognitive science. Hard to believe this phony piece of crap is still making money pimping conspiracies to the gullible illiterate.Considering he hasn't got a trace of credentials in any hard science, let alone structural mechanics, his opinion about the collapse of WTC is about as valuable as the janitor's.He's been promising his adoring followers for years that he's on the verge of publishing in an academic journal to "prove" this nonsense. Still waiting, but SciAM & Jrnl of Engrg Mechanics are, too.

I think we need to call for a revolution amongst scientists. Have them set up computer viral infections (or something) that will destroy the GPS systems of satellites since that seems to be a vital need for tracking and bombing. Have the scientists destroy the very systems they helped create. Our knowledge is bringing about our own destruction. I mean we are all going to die anyway but...comeon people. My Native Amer.ancestors hid in caves from the US gov. Do I have to?

But where do we run and hide when the country's borders are dissolved and martial law takes over? Will Americans really stand for this? Will so many take the job of martial police/oppressors? How will they sell this to us? They did a great sell on 9/11, but many are waking up and talking about the constitution again.

Are there so many who will take the job of being the martial law police? How will they sell that to us? Because they did sell the war to just about everyone. I told those around me it was wrong, but I knew that the mentality of most was not to listen and think logically. Most did not look at the alternative viewpoint. ALWAYS A BIG MISTAKE.

I absolutely love (have intense feelings)people who speak of logic and science. But part of the problem of getting the truth of 9/11 (inside job)out to the general public is the level of education that they do not have. The level of vocabulary in this discussion is so far above most people. I love it, but many people react with anger when they feel people are talking above them. They feel alienated unintentionally and reject it all.

I've been a real prick to Fetzer although I really like him and would have loved him as a lecture. But because of Judy Wood I felt us front-line activists had to ditch him as well. He should have kicked that nutjob out of st911.If you'd been frontlining 9/11 in the forums for the last 2 years you'd understand why we had to ditch Fetzer - b/c of Judy Wood. |
