Perhaps you never made it as a dancer because you can't recognize good ballet when you see it -and also you probably were never as good as you thought!

When watching her dance her face looks like she is constipated. Could it be she had several facelifts that pulled back too much skin? I don't see why she was praised so much. To be perfectly honest I was a better dancer and I never made it professionally!! I just don't get it!!!!

Your totally wrong. Its a fact that young dancers idolize people like her and read that book. I've seen it first hand. She had no right to judge Balanchine, Baryshnikov, Peter Martins or all the other people she trashed. Its high time someone defended them. Her dancing speaks for itself, its bad. After reading the book and watching her dance she had no right to talk about those great artists like that.

ok first of all, this is just youtube, so relax. Simply because she stated what she experienced while being a dancer with nycb does not mean she is undeserving of anything. she worked hard and fell hard unfortunately. anyone who reads the book should be smart enough to understand that its her opinion and her life, and you have no right to judge. she didnt hurt anyones rep that bad, and as far as i can see, the nycb is doing pretty well.

Baryshnikov, he had to give permission to release the video. I feel sorry that such a great artist like Baryshnikov had to suffer through his personal life being exposed in a drug addicts book. Hello? Did you read the book? She trashed Balanchine, Peter Martins, Heather Watts and others. Shes a bad influence on young dancers reading her book. There are far more deserving dancers that should get the attention she dose.

This was released as revenge Gelsey's dancing is so bad I can't even watch. That's what she gets for writing that trashy book She was lucky to even had worked with Balanchine or Baryshnikov Im sure there were better dancers at the time. She totally sucks.

nchlltmr: Yes, those are glissades. The knees are not normally supposed to be bent--I think the reason she is doing them that way is because of weakness caused by her illness.
