if the only reason you don't like him is because he doesn't "seek to push things forward" because he's unoriginal then thats fine. And i agree. I don't like cookie cutter artists at ALL. The thing i find original about him is his unprecedented emotion, unique guitar tunings, choppy vocals, and use of dissonance (which is aparent in other songs on the album). Don't you find that unique too?

hahaha fakeharmonic idiot. i live in the same city that justin vernon lived in, i've seen his house, hes not some "rich toffy nose type" idk where youre getting your info from.

fans of bon iver check out Phospherescent, you wont be dissapointed, and the truth is though he recored the guitar and vocals in a log cabin, the horns and strings were recored in a recording studio so i think we should stop going on about the log cabin

When he said toffy he meant posh as in a Toff, so I'm presuming you're from the UK fakeharmonic? Not that it's relevent, just never heard anyone from anywhere else say Toff. It's not new, no. Singer-songwriters happen all the time. I just love the lyrics and the melody, which I can't really compare to any other songs. If you don't like it that's fair enough, I don't really mind. I don't get the Thom Yorke connection though.

hahaha it seems theres alot of people clinging on to some sort of externalised image of this guy, so iam really sorry to have come out and attacked, and at worst, burst your little bubble.but whats your problem? guys come on! face it, its unoriginal. if an artist doesnt seek to push things forward, then what is he or she doing?? jumping on a band wagon,or even worse, retaining the status quo. and that is not art.if you cannot understand this fundamental then of course you will love this.

learn how to spell toffee. how can you be so ignorant as to judge him by how much money his dad potentially makes. many musicians that you probably like were fortunate enough to have wealthy supporters to jump start their career. just because you are unlucky and untalented doesnt mean you can take it out on this guy. hes not a great singer, or a phenominal guitar player but he writes good music with passion. it shows your musical inferiority when you compare him to thom yorke. youre embarrassing

Who cares if it was made with $100 worth of equipment. $1m bucks doesn't make a song any better. If your not into this indie, melancholy style of music go change to a different song...simple. Different strokes for different folks I say.

have you listened to his ep? it sounds like it was recorded with 100 dollars worth of equipment at most. thom yorke does not sing with emotion. he may sing falsetto, but he does not sing with a heavy r&b influence like bon iver. so suck my dick.

Uhh...you're entitled to your opinion, of course, but I'm sort of at a loss as to where you're hearing the influence of Thom Yorke in this song. |
