amazing voice and song, she still sings the song with so much passion at 1.23 u can see how much the song means to her.

This was filmed in Clearwater Florida in April of 1976 I believe at the Biltmore ballroom. Is was the second leg of Dylans Rolling Thunder Review

I've been listening to her since I was a kid, and now at 46 and a folk/old time musician myself I still get chills when I hear her.

SWOD came out on Gull in 1976-- a vastly under-powered effort that went almost unnoticed then. Anyway-- Halford's style fit priest's style of music perfectly. he is an icon. But put him on stage with a guitar and a mike ... and ...it would get pretty ugly for Rob without a wall of sound behind him. DD is a rather pathetic effort , also, IMO Listen to Baez, Patsy Cline, Marty Robbins, Judy Garland , Elvis ...-- if you want to hear some good popular music vocalists...

if you were a heavy metal fan from the 70s you would know a little record by judas priest called sad wings of destiny. the third track dreamer deceiver is a slow song with an absolute classic vocal that shows off three parts of his vocal range. a screamer is phil anselmo from pantera or hetfield from metallica. hitting high notes is not screaming, albeit he does scream but that does not define his vocals. this is an amazing song and both of judas priests versions are amazing, covers tend to suck |
