The film doesn't follow the book, lots of different stuff, different characters etc.The film doesn't even end the same way!

Those scenes are non-dialogue scenes. They simply dub 'breathing' sounds and sound effects in post-production.

Can someone explain to me how the boom mike doesn't pick up the director's voice as he tells actors to move this way, move that way, stop, look scared, and so forth?

That ballroom song has a creepy quality to it. Fit the film so well.

I started reading the book 2 days ago, the film (which I love) is a watered down version of the book.The characters have more depth, the story is more tragic and for that reason far more emotionally effecting...I am a Jack nicholsen fan, but I must admit that I have enjoyed learning more about this character from what I have read in the book, compared to what I saw in the film.I dont usually read books, but I would urge anyone who likes this film to get a copy its just far more intense.

I didn't read the book (it must be great), but I'm curious if the difference between the book and the movie is big or not.

Kurisu0, you can feel any way you wish about her, no need to get so defensive. Her "over the Top" performance always reminded me that I was watching an actor, instead of getting lost in the story. By the way, I think there's a reason you haven't seen anyone like her since, as she holds the world record for the most re-takes in a single film.

shelley's acting brought a very realistic feel to the movie. haven't seen anyone like her since. don't really know what the fuck you're smoking.
