In 61 someone died. A car went off the track and killed the driver and 14 spectators. This accident didn't occur on the banking but rather on the current course near Parabolica. This was the last year they raced on the entire circuit, oval included.

The old oval needs to be repaved and used again.

I am somewhat grieved to see the part cut where the young Sicilian says he is immortal, there is still racing action on the left, and it sets the stage for the ending, when the young driver has to face with the death of his teammate.Although the movie is not all racing, its why I like it, they managed to pull off the in car cameras so well, for even years after nothing like it. You can tell the in car F3's are slower though.

some one may have had a similar crash, but no one died at monza in 1966, i belive in '61 and '70 there were.

GREAT FOOTAGE,WIPPERMANthey must have been running methanol thru their veins, specially when passing other racers on the now-defunct banking, don't you think?
