animal ark - Hastings, MN is a no -kill shelter thts were i got my puppy on november 2nd 2008 :) shes only 12-13weeks first puppy i ever got!

Parvo=bad, which is why we came up with this program, to keep the puppies out of the shelter environment where the "P" is spread. it is heartbreaking to lose them to this virus, very few make it.

It's not like that. When someone comes to a kill shelter with a litter of pups to be killed, the shelter manager tells them about this program, we'll take the puppies and spay/neuter EVERY unfixed animal in their home. This ensures that there will be no more unwanted animals from this household. We also encourage responsible spay/neuter through low cost clinics, certificate programs etc.

So all someone has to do to get a free spay and vaccinations for their pet is let her pop out a load of unwanted puppies for someone else to take care of? This is just promoting irresponsible pet ownership and is enabling. Then you take the cute puppies and leave mom with an owner who doesn't give a crap. There needs to be laws about pet overbreeding. Make people responsible. Don't dump everything on "rescues".
