Metallica is a great band (well they used to be when I listened to them 15 years ago). They pretty much single-handedly saved metal in the 80's. That said, they did a worthy cover of this song which preserved the tone and feeling; but at the same time did not exceed the original. Seger's a better singer, first of all.

Metalica's version is not even in the same universe as this one...not even close.

Stealing alarm clocks from Wal-Mart would result in criminal charges from a governmental agency. This would result in some fines (a few hundred bucks), possoble jail time and/or some community service. Metallica however, takes a different approach. They side step criminal charges and sue an individual for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Do you really not see a difference? Stealing from Wal-Mart ruins your week. Stealing from Metallica ruins your entire life.
