When I saw this on PBS 7 years ago, I fell hoplessly in love with Dmitri.He had the striking impact on me with his broken nose.

Is this edited? Surely Act III wasn't cut up in this way, with drastic changes to the music? I can't imagine any listener unfamiliar with the opera making any sense out of these dramatic fragments with Tatiana's contribution reduced to spoken words. You need to hear the whole opera to appreciate its stature as one of the peaks of Russian music - excerpts don't give any impression of its greatness.
