Well I think when it comes to music, people will back up whoever they look upto. So all the carrie fans are not going to admit that compared to George Michaels it was disgraceful. Ok I am a fan of George Michael but I'm also a christian and as a christian I hate lies but love truth and honesty. And without a doubt this was so dull and pityful compared to the original. I think in todays world the biggest and best singers from the 80's get forgotten about, no matter how talented they are.

Seems like Burbonboy below and I(and others I might add) are of the same mind. I think to end my contribution to this video, I can only point out what was said by bonk65 who added this video. George Michael was, is and will always be master of this song. Been nice disagreeing with most of you and enjoy what you like.

gymnastboy1985....I am not insane and certainly not carried away on the wave of hysteria that American Idol seems to instill in people. You seem to equate shouting as vocal power, I don't. Carrie Underwood is almost unknown outside of the N America continent. George Michael by contrast is a worldwide star and didn't become that for nothing. You enjoy what you like and I will enjoy what I like. Not liking this performance does not make me insane!

I do agree, that george michael is the master of this song for one reason and one reason only he wrote it. the original, though it fit the time period, is annoying compared to this one, even george himself used this arrangment in a later performance... know why? because it did the lyrics justice, and when he did it with this arrangement it was amazing, tear jerking almost, but comparing this to the ORIGINAL, carrie wins, hands down

ARE YOU INSANE! ITS CALLED VOCAL POWER GEORGE MICHAEL CANT SING A SONG LIKE THIS THE WAY IT DESERVES TO BE SUNG! THE WORDS BEHIND THIS SONG MEAN EVERYTHING TO ALOT OF PEOPLE AND GEORGE, though the original performer, CAN NOT GIVE THIS SONG THE POWER, THE EMOTION, AND THE RAWNESS IT DESERVES, WHICH CARRIE DOES!!!!!!!!
