Actually, you're wrong. All In The Family was one of the first shows to approach cross dressing as part of a serious storyline. Edith had a best friend who was a crossdresser. The end of that friendship was just as touching as this, but I do agree with you...GG still deserves credit for how they tackled it. :)

Its hard to remember today how progressive this was for its time. Today crossdressing on TV is - dare I say it - normal. (And rightly so!) But this was the mid 1980s, playing to a middle American audience. Its not just hilarious and touching. But really breaking new ground. God bless all of them.

R.I.P Sophia, you were a good actress, Blanche , Dorothy and Rose to, love the G.G all these funny episodes. Never saw a comedy again were the áll of the actors were hilarious at the same time. |
