i dig this but when you lean back to feel the contraction, your using momemtum and if your lifting hvy then that motion is gonna help you. i still prefer to lock my body in one position to avoid that momemtum.

I can testify to the V bar pull downs for building the lats. ive ben bodybuyilding for many years and nothing has realy made my lats grow except this exercise.

military wouldnt work as well, as it is a push exercise.which will work you shoulders.e.g you push the bar up.and this is lat "pull downs".i suggest making a pull up bar.that is one of the best back work outs you can do.
