Monsturd, these are contrasting examples. Separation of church and state is clearly spelled out in the 1st, drugs are not. We have certain inalienable rights provided by the constitution that neither the federal government or the states should be able to violate. Opening the door for religion in in public sciences classes opens the door to possibilities such as Kansas banning Pro-Choice organizations and protests. This would not be a free country if states were allowed to do such things.

PalaeoPalyGuy.....Obviously, you don't support McCain or Obama because they believe that the "holy spirit" impregnated the "virgin Mary" and that created the "son of God". Is it fair to say that anybody that believes this is not fit to be President????
IPOMonsturd (October 12, 2008 at 11:25 pm)
PalaeoPalyGuy.......I don't agree with Ron Paul on his belief about creationism. Could you please show me where I can confirm your statement that Ron Paul wants creationism taught in public schools.
IPOMonsturd (October 12, 2008 at 11:19 pm)
PalaeoPalyGuy....States' Rights are very important. Sometimes the Federal Government does things that are unconstitutional, and the states should be able to defend their rights. For example, medical marijuana in California. The federal government does not have the constitutional right to tell people what they can and can't put in thier bodies, and California has given its citizens the Constitutional right to do so. Do you support the Federal Government where this is concerned??????
PalaeoPalyGuy (October 12, 2008 at 11:15 pm)
Teaching creationism in public schools is a violation of the 1st Amendment. This isn't a decision for states. It is the job of the states to teach science in science classrooms, not religion. If you want to brainwash your kids with BS, destroy their possible futures, then by all means pull them from public school or "teach the controversy" at home after school. Allowing this sort of breach of the 1st opens the door for states to do any number of things with religion and tax dollars. Fuck that.
PalaeoPalyGuy (October 12, 2008 at 11:10 pm)
"...it would be up to the states not ron paul." This is the removal of the protections of the Bill of Rights and other amendments from plausible enforcement. You, Ron Paul, me, and any American with half a brain knows that removing the protection from religion, leaving this decision up to states, lays way for several states to become engrained with religious fascism, the beliefs of certain christian sects being forced on the populous. To say other wise is to ignore the facts of history.
