It's strange, this vicarious relaxation we feel through seeing others being massaged and relaxed. It's like we are importing ourselves into the scene... I first discovered the effect when I was about seven years old... parents had a 1970's era massage book, and I found that reading it hypnotized me, quite pleasantly. To this day, i find vicarious massage to be more effective than a handful of valium. strange.
