Bioware didn't make it - CD Projekt RED did. They just bought the engine from bioware.

Wow, I know Fronczewski (I mean, I'm a Pole :P), didn't recognize him. I currently play the BG and I don't like how Fronczewski acted there. Thanks for info, I don't read credits :P.

Yea. He's great. His name is Piotr Fronczewski. He did voice acting for Baldur's gate, and probably several other rpgs.

I spam, but whatever :P. What I also noticed is that Geralt in polish version sounds like a human, he's voice is not scary but surely its mature. In english version he sounds like Batman, or more seriously, like an epic hero, what imho doesn't fit.

Yes, and some idioms just can't be translated. Same with easter eggs - the game is full of them.

The enhanced edition of witcher fixes bad non-polish dialogs (well, I didn't test it, but that's why EE was created :P). As for the intro, I really like polish narrator, who is a little hoarse - I recommend everyone to see beginning of polish intro "Wiedźmin intro" just to hear the narrator voice.

IMO the intro voiceovers are equally good in english as in polish. The issue at hand is, however, that if you really look closely at the storyline of Witcher(books and game) and some of the unique features cdprojekt implemented(sex, drugs and moral ambiguity etc)you can't help but notice a spirit that I have never completely seen in Anglo-Saxon culture. Even in this intro there are subtle elements that make it SO much different than whatever you've ever seen in the english speaking world. |
