Great point about the justification vs. context.

I could watch this all day. Rap back then was all about the justified angst, the strength in us, power! No one sez gang bangin' was justfied, but these guys did a great job explaining it.

I m n luv w/Chuck D 2 this very day.How great did we have it way back when, when rap music had a tight beat AND the lyrics were actually about somethin besides $, clothes, drugs & women??!! I know I took it 4 granted & I miss it terribly. So I listen 2 as much "old skool" rap as I can, like this! Rap music nowadays aint worth much.If it doesnt have a tight beat (cuz none of the new stuff has lyrics worth anything)I cant even listen 2 it. The classics have me spoiled & set in my ways.LOVE 2 P.E.!

All the rappers who came out later (like Jay-Z and Lil wayne) who call themselves the greatest rappers ever... do they seriously have a single song this dope? Or a verse as pure genious as the one Chuck starts at 2:53 and keeps flowin till 4:33? If they do, I havn't heard it.

Good question. Unless Chuck says it in an earlier song, I say it's Greg Nice. He said it on Nice and Smooth's first record back in 89. This song came out in 91.
