If you do HAVE to live in or near Atlanta rent don't buy! The crime is spreading so fast outwards that you really need to live about an hour away to have decent schools and a safe neighborhood without all the crack, rape and murder.I'd really suggest avoiding GA altogether since it's becoming a third world cesspool. Idaho or somewhere like that should be ok for 20 years or more but ATL is already one of the MURDER capitals of THE WORLD.

I don't know where you're getting those numbers. I'm not saying you're wrong you're probably right however, everyone says something different so its hard to know whats true. How does Atlanta have 7 million people? Houston, the 4th largest city in America only has 4.5 million. Another thing, according to CNN and the New York Times, Ft. Worth is the fastest growing city, not ATL.
