Always the most honorable of men the fine Mr. Palmer, but I got a feelin' with these women he was, uh, maybe lying a little bit about the I didn't mean to turn you on thing. Great old song and vid!!

What a sexy song and 'rocker in a business suit.' How could he not turn you on?!

This album "Riptide" was the first Compact Disc (CD) I bought (1986) in the long box. I can never get tired of this song, smooth, cool as a m'fr. RIP Robert Palmer (1949-2003)

Actually, this one is produced by Bernard Edwards of Chic.On-topic: I like this version better than Cherelle's, even though I like Cherelle's version. Robert made the song sound so much different, that one wouldn't think it sound like something from Jam and Lewis's canon unless they heard Cherelle's version afterwards. It's a shame that he left us five years ago...we miss ya, Robert.

Robert Palmer already turned me on a long time ago his voice was super sexy! He looked pretty good as well:)

This track has the killer bass riff. Cherelle has the break dancing gorilla. I like them both. I was surprised when Palmer covered the song, though, because it was originally written from a woman's point of view.

Considering other Palmer hits & his style ( R&B ), I would not say it was outside his normal range, as to be honest, up until a minute ago, his version of this song was the only one I knew of.
