It was an uncomfortable time for both races to be on stage. By this time Seeger was already being persecuted for his liberal views and accused of being socialist. So I guess they both has reason to feel some apprehension!

Did you ever hear the Lomax interviews with Blind Willie McTell .. they were similiarly embarrassing, but, Willie handled them.I will put up a link for you tomorrow (I think it's on myspace.)

For years I respect Seeger and Lomax but, unfortunatly this respect is ebbing as I see their peculiar 'self' interest in these interviews, especially the one with Donovan, Rev. Davis they were decidedly uncomfortable with his rambles to say the least.PS Freight Train was the first tab. I mastered in 1965.She's a grand lady, congrats.
