Myspace and Facebook represent an important step in how society uses technology. Millions of people who otherwise would have remained strangers to each can now reach out and "meet". The internet, much like the printing press of the 16th century, is a communication based technology which Myspace and Facebook are very much a part of. The more people who use it, the more the technology will become important which will force another evolution of social networking.
