Aelxander's Ragtime Band is greatest band in the world...it's a dream band, but Ira Berlin made all the good musicians dream with a band like this...and you know...Glenn Miller became inspired in this idea to get "that sound"

Fox were forced to reissue Alice movies from the mid forties on as she sat out her contract at home. It is such a shame that she retired at 30 as she still had lots ot give the movies - In 1962 Fox made new prints of Alexanders Ragtime Band for yet another reissue after Alice's comeback in State Fair as Pat Boones' mother. Alexanders' still stands the test of time as a very entertaining and moving movie musical. I love this film = and this trailer.Thanks.G

This is the "reissue" trailer for the original 1938 film (probably around 1945), and a bit shorter than the original (a minute less)- Fox wanted to mine "new gold" from the film, and they got it!

Lovely to see this - great trailer for a great musical , one of my favourites. Unfortunately it only comes up if you hunt for the exact title - if you TAG alice, Tyrone, Ethel, Don etc lost more people will find this and enjoy it- also Irving Berlin ! I loved it but I had to hunt for it.G
