I absolutely adore this. No-one could ever equal Judy.Does anyone know where I could find 'I Was Born in a Trunk' where she sits on the stage and dangles her legs over it? I can't find it on YouTube - unfortunately. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough!

good point but what i was saying was that making color in fils was a little hard in the 50s, deppending on what year, because france had just then made the first color photo not even 40 years before and even the it didnt catch on until the 30s but then the stock market crashed and that just messed every thing upp.s.if im offending you in any way just say the word

when she says "were going to the promise land" does she mean jerusalem

When she is singing about the "judgment day", is she referring to heaven/the after-life? With all the "halleluejahs" (sp?) and the line, "...the lord is waiting to take your hand...".... thy lyrics are a bit confusing and don't seem to fit the happy mood of the music.

um, you are comparing apples and oranges. television and movies are not the same. very few homes had color TVs in the '50s, so why bother filming the episodes in color if no one could see it? this is precisely why studios were suddenly making so many MOVIES in color--to draw the growing population of TV viewers back into the theatres. |
